Our Demand: Do No Harm!

On 12th of June 2026, 30 organisers from across the country came together in London to launch the Do No Harm campaign.

We discussed how we can take the Do No Harm campaign to our communities and invite allies to join us. While many groups have been quietly organising for decades against the hostile environment, it was recognised by many members of the Solidarity Knows No Borders community that we need to invite more to join us. In this urgent moment, where the far right are gaining more momentum, there can be no bystanders.

Why this campaign, why now?

Do No Harm was developed in response to community members’ concerns about the new government’s Restoring Order and Control agenda and the Home Secretary’s speech in Parliament in November 2025, which set out an expanded vision of enforcement, detention, and state violence against communitas already exhausted by the decades of racists policies and far right attacks.

Do No Harm is our collective response to that moment.

It is a refusal to accept cruelty as policy and a demand that the line be drawn now, before more lives, families and communities are damaged.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO JOIN THE CALL TO ACTION

Pledging to do no harm is a public commitment. It says: you can trust me, and you can hold me accountable. I will not participate in, profit from, or stay silent about policies that dehumanise.

It says that public services exist to serve all our communities, not to harm them. that care is not conditional on a passport. that dignity is not something you earn through suffering.

From that basis of trust, we organise. We imagine systems rooted in solidarity that support people to move, stay, and live with dignity.

Name what you will not do.
