The international migration of highly skilled healthcare professionals to the UK has been a long standing tradition within the NHS and it has evolved dramatically over the years. This paper examines the impact of UK employment policies and international recruitment schemes on overseas-qualified migrant and refugee doctors and dentist coming to the UK.
