Migrants Organise members, supporters and staff will be walking 10k this June 17th at the London Legal Walk to raise money for urgent legal and holistic support for migrants and refugees.
Last year we raised over £7,000 for urgent support to isolated migrants and refugees – let’s break that record and raise £8,000. Watch this video to see the fun we had last year!
Your donations will go directly to support our small but dedicated team provide ongoing, intensive, holistic support for vulnerable migrants and refugees.
Every year we support over 300 migrants and refugees to feel less alone as they adjust to their new lives in the UK. This support is essential and on-going delivered by a small, hands on team who go above and beyond to make sure our members get the support they deserve.
From families who have been resettled to the UK from refugee camps, to young people who have risked everything to seek sanctuary here only to find themselves stuck in a punishing asylum system – we stand with them, support them and believe in them.
From our centre in West London we offer legal support, housing and benefits advice, English language education, mentoring services as well as a group activities for people to come and feel connected.
The support is a lifeline for many who under current hostile immigration policies and legal aid cuts find themselves homeless, unable to work, unable to access education or even pay their weekly food bills.
However we believe in something different.
Migration is a fact of life, and migrants and refugees deserve access to justice.
Not only will your donation help hundreds of people, but it will also help us take action to tackle structural problems – through organising and speaking out we demand a bigger change.
